Ecological

-  Explore the jungles on foot and/or horseback with experienced guides to see and learn about the inestimable variety of flora (orchids and bromeliads, vines, medicinal plants, native trees both in Mayan folklore and present practice) and fauna (birds, monkeys, insects, snakes, crocodiles and their Mayan significance) that form the rainforest ecosystem. 

Archeological:

-   Visit a variety of ancient Mayan sites, from the magnificent ceremonial city of Tikal to the miniature and magical island site of Topoxte.  Learn about the ancient civilization of the Mayas from knowledgeable guides, well versed in the history, culture and folklore of this mysterious people.

Cultural:

- Learn more about the present day inhabitants of the jungles as well as their ancient technologies through work on community devolopment programs focused on education and infrastructure development.

-   Open horizons of understanding in true cultural exchange as you stay amongst the people of a small village.  You will have the opportunity to live with a campesino family, take the local buses, visit the nearest market, take Spanish lessons, and more.
